Four anglers from Sheffield recently enjoyed a weeks accommodation in one of the cabins managing two matches during their stay.

Second placed T. Ambler put 62-10-00 on the scales at the end of the day from peg 7.
C. Bradley finished in third place on the day from peg 5 with 38-00-00.
Fourth place went to M. Green with 37-00-00 from peg number 2 on the damm wall.
Day Two - Woodside Pool
| Name: | Weight: | Peg # |
|---|---|---|
| K. Gray | 150-00-00 | 12 |
| T. Ambler | 107-00-00 | 7 |
| M. Green | 91-00-00 | 8 |
| C. Bradley | 62-00-00 | 9 |
After a great first match on the Island pool, the four anglers from Sheffield were really looking forward to getting their turn on Woodside pool, especially given it's current form!
Winner on the day was K. Gray with a massive 150-00-00 of carp to nearly 15lbs caught from peg 12 on the damm wall. Not quite enough to take the match weight record from Woodside pool!
In second place, T. Ambler also finished with an impressive catch of carp weighing 107-00-00 taken from peg number 7.
Third on the day was M. Green who managed to find his feet after a difficult first outting on the Island pool. Fishing from peg 8 round the back of the island he managed a much improved 91-00-00.
Finally, on fourth place, was C. Bradley with a decent effort of 62-00-00 from peg 9. On most days, that would be enough to frame, but given Woodside pool's fantastic form of late, it wasn't anywhere near enough to finish in the top three!
A group of anglers from Mansfield stopped in the on-site accommodation and took full advantage of the sport on offer during their stay fishing every single day. The group of five fished both Woodside and Island pool and enjoyed some fantastic sport.

The group of five fished the Island pool on the third day of their stay. G. Bennett decided to get some last minute practice in on the Tuesday opting to take part as a guest angler on a small mid-week open at Woodside finishing second with 95-00-00.
However, it was N. Gregory who finished on top on the day with 55-00-00 from peg 8 on the damm wall.
G. Bennett finished a very close second with 54-00-00 from peg 23 on the opposite bank fishing paste out towards the island.
P. Musgrove showed his consistancy with another third place finish, this time finishing with 53-14-00 from peg 14 behind the larger of the two islands with 6mm banded pellet.
R. Brough struggled on the Island pool managing just 34-00-00 from peg 24 and could only watch as his neighbour G. Bennett made the best of the two swims.
D. Louden's run of bad luck continued with another last place finish with 29-00-00.
Day Three - Woodside Pool
The final day of their stay saw the five anglers back on Woodside pool after a disappointing second session on the Island pool due to the fish spawning.
| Name: | Weight: | Peg # |
|---|---|---|
| G. Bennett | 137-14-00 | 4 |
| P. Musgrove | 63-08-00 | 8 |

| D. Louden | 39-12-00 | 7 |
G. Bennett flexed his angling muscles again on Woodside pool with a fine bag of carp from peg 4. Alternating between paste and pellet hookbaits fished up in the water, he managed to put 137-14-00 on the sclaes at the end of the day.
Second placed P. Musgrove finished in second with 63-08-00 of carp, all caught on paste.
Third on the day was M. Gregory from peg 2. Fishing the pellet waggler, he managed 58-10-00.
R. Brough and D. Louden rounded things off in 4th and 5th place with 48-00-00 and 39-12-00 respectively on both pole fished paste and pellet waggler.
All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable weeks fishing was had at Woodside. We look forward to seeing you again lads!
