A decent turnout saw twenty one (21) anglers from Halesowen Cricket Club attend this latest contest. Anglers were pegged across both Woodside and Island pools.
Winner on the day on Woodside pool was M. Jones, who drew peg 5. Starting his match in pole and hard pellet short, he found small carp in numbers before switching to his edge late on with dead red maggots to find some quality fish and offer 65-06-00 to the scales.
Second place was secured by G. Price from neighbouring peg 3. Opting to fish pole and pellet long towards the island, he found carp and quality roach to weigh in a final 49-05-00 at the end of the five hours.
Third place on the day went to S. Farlow from peg 1. Alternating between maggot and casters, he was able to find small carp and silverfish in equal numbers to weigh in 42-05-00.
