Twelve (12) anglers attended this latest Sunday open match held on Woodside pool. After a hard frost overnight, fishing was expected to be difficult. However, in an effort to combat the frost, the draw way delayed until 10am with anglers fishing 11-4.
Winner on the day was Pete Waters, who drew peg 11. Fishing mainly down his edge to the next pallet offering maggot and pellet, Pete found quality fish in numbers to weigh in a match-winning 52-00-00.
Second place was taken by Adam Hickman, who drew neighbouring peg 10. Fishing pole and pellet long at 16m over to the island, Adam found mainly carp with odd roach and skimmer bream to offer 46-06-00 to the scales.
Rounding off the top three was Steve Massey from peg 3. Steve started his match on the pole but after a quiet start soon changed to feeder tactics targeting the island to find half a dozen carp and a handful of silvers to weigh in 37-09-00.
