Halesowen Cricket Club, Woodside Pool

A decent turnout saw eighteen (18) anglers from Halesowen Cricket Club attend this Saturday match on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day were extremely hot with no breeze at all. The carp had also shown signs of spawning during the week before the match, so weights were expected to be low. That said, the standard of fishing on the day was pretty good with very little separating the top three on the day.

Winner on the day was Dean Granger, who drew peg 14 on the dam wall. Opting to fish bread for the duration of the match, Dean found some quality carp to weigh in a match-winning 78-07-00.

Finishing in second place was Stewart Price from peg 11. Again, fishing bread for the full five hours, Stewart was also able to find some good quality fish to 10lbs to weigh in 65-13-00.

Rounding off the top three on the day was Scott Rhodes from corner peg 7. Alternating between his short pole line with corn and meat and the pellet waggler, Scott managed 63-15-00.
