Winter League RD2, Woodside Pool
Saturday 18th October marked the second round of the Woodside winter league series, which was held on Woodside pool for the second consecutive round. Reason being, the fishery management were away on holiday so the match was left on Woodside pool to make running the event easier (pegging, etc) for those standing in to ensure the fixture went ahead as planned. Old Hill Labour AC, Woodside Pool
Nine (9) anglers from Old Hill Labour lined the banks of Woodside pool for this latest club match. Winner on the day was Chris Whitehouse, who drew peg 10 on the point of the island. Fishing maggot down his edge, Chris found mostly carp to weigh in a match-winning 58-14-00. Second place was taken by George Clift from peg 3. Golden Maggot AC, Island Pool
A small turn-out for the Golden Maggot saw just five (5) anglers in attendance for our final club fixture of the 2025 season. Winner on the day was Lawrence Connolly. Loz made no mistake from favoured peg 2 and demonstrated a master class in how to fully optimise your short line offering a massive 200-12-00 of carp to the scales. The Black Boy AC, Woodside & Island Pools
Fifteen (15) anglers from The Black Boy fished their second of two fixtures here this year at Woodside. Anglers were pegged across both match lakes with overall standings being decided across the venue as a whole. Winner on the day was Craig Yeomans, who drew peg 13 on Woodside pool. Ten (10) anglers attended the first round of this year's winter league series. With numbers being a little down on last year (13 fished in 2024), anglers were pegged across one lake with round one taking place on Woodside pool. This year's campaign follows the same format as last year's with carp also being included in angler's weights and cumulative points deciding final placings. The only change to proceedings sees competitors all fishing the same lake given the numbers. Co
