Match Angler Of The Year, Woodside & Island Pools
The third annual Match Angler Of The Year Final took place on Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th March with the 2025 qualification period producing a twenty-strong field for this year's final. To qualify for the final, anglers had to either (a) win two club matches, open matches or special events, or (b) weigh in over 100lbs over a maximum of two matches. Open Match, Woodside Pool
Eleven (11) anglers attended this first open match of the new season held across both Woodside and Island pools. The vast majority of the field had qualified for the Match Angler Of The Year final, which was due to take place the following weekend, so it served as the perfect practice opportunity for those involved. Saturday 28th saw the conclusion of this year's silverfish only league with very little separating the top three anglers going into the final round. Conditions for the final round had been milder during the week leading up to the match itself with the resident carp finally waking from their winter slumber. Saturday 21st February marked round three of our silverfish league with eight (8) anglers pegged on Woodside pool. Conditions for this third and latest round saw a significant improvement in the weather with temperatures making it into double-figures and a welcome warm breeze creating a decent ripple.
