Conditions on the day were tough, which was to be expected given the arrival of the year's first frosts resulting in a lot of colour dropping out of the water. Saturday 15th November saw eight (8) anglers go head-to-head for this latest round of the 2025 Winter League series held on Woodside pool. The day before saw extreme weather conditions with storm Claudia bringing a months worth of rain in just 24 hours, so the fishing was not expected to be great. Saturday 1st November saw the third round of the Woodside winter league series. The field was a couple of anglers short due to both Stan Taylor and Dave Bowyer both being unable to attend due to illness. That said, the midway stage of the league fished fairer than in the previous two rounds producing more consistant weights across the board. Saturday 18th October marked the second round of the Woodside winter league series, which was held on Woodside pool for the second consecutive round. Reason being, the fishery management were away on holiday so the match was left on Woodside pool to make running the event easier (pegging, etc) for those standing in to ensure the fixture went ahead as planned. Old Hill Labour AC, Woodside Pool
Nine (9) anglers from Old Hill Labour lined the banks of Woodside pool for this latest club match. Winner on the day was Chris Whitehouse, who drew peg 10 on the point of the island. Fishing maggot down his edge, Chris found mostly carp to weigh in a match-winning 58-14-00. Second place was taken by George Clift from peg 3.
