Fourteen (14) anglers from The Green Man fished this Sunday contest held on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day were red hot and very still so weights were not expected to be great. However, that said, the resident carp were willing to feed with some great weights being recorded despite the conditions.
Winner on the day was Craig Newton, who drew peg 10 on the point of the island. Fishing the long pole over to the island at 16m, Craig offered 6mm banded pellet to find carp in numbers to offer a final 135-00-00 at the end of the five hours.
Taking second place was Carl Stevens from corner peg 7. Opting to fish 6mm pellet over micros down his inside, Carl found some decent sized fish to weigh in 124-04-00.
Third place on the day was taken by Charlie Jeavons from neighbouring peg 6. Fishing soft pellet down the margins accounted for an all-carp catch and a final weight of 103-04-00.
