Eleven (11) anglers from Halesowen Cricket Club attended this bitterly cold Saturday match on Island pool. With an overnight frost and temperatures barely above freezing the following morning, expectations were not high for this latest content. That said, although weights were unsurprisingly low, there was very little separating the majority of the field, with the exception of lake winner, Scott Rhodes.
Scott drew peg 10 and fished long pole and pellet for most of the match to find mainly carp to weigh in 40-09-00 to confirm a well deserved win.
Second place on the day was taken by L. Wharton, who drew peg 8. Fishing caster short on the pole, he managed a lovely 18-08-00 catch of mainly roach with odd skimmers and small perch.
Gary Harris finished in third place from peg 3 offering 13-12-00 to the scales.
