A small turnout saw just five (5) anglers from Adams AC attend this latest Sunday club match on the Island pool. Conditions on the day started off quite cool with temperatures overnight dropping quite significantly but the sun made brief appearances during the day to help warm things up. That said, conditions were still not seasonal for the time of year.
Winner on the day was Steve Crutch, who drew peg 3. Starting his match fishing pellet down his edge, Steve soon discovered he had fish in numbers willing to feed. He tried shallowing up and coming off the bottom, still with pellet, and managed to put an impressive run of smaller fish together to end the match with a new PB of 127-02-00. Steve also qualifies for the Match Angler of the Year final.
Finishing in second place from peg 15 was Martin Holds. Martin fished the method feeder towards the island with 6mm wafters to take 57-12-00 of mainly carp along with some big roach and skimmer bream.
Taking the last of the main frame payout places was David Holds on peg 14. Again, fishing a method feeder with maggot on the hook, David caught mostly carp to offer 45-08-00 to the scales.
