Nine (9) anglers from Barbourne AC attended this club contest on Woodside pool. Those brave enough to face the extreme temperatures experienced clear, dry, and very hot conditions with much of the area suffering a historic, record-breaking June heatwave. Temperatures peaked around 28°C by the afternoon, with anglers understandibly struggling to catch with any real consistency.
Winner on a very hot day was Ash Bosworth, who drew peg 10 on the point of the island. Ash started his match fishing paste short to find some real lumps early on in the match before having a look down his edge later on with maggot to end the match with an impressive 120-04-00 for an easy victory.
Second place was taken by Adr Price from peg 16 on the dam wall. Again, Ade started to catch on his short line with pellet before the carp pushed out leaving him to target his edges late on with corn to end the match with 45-07-00.
Finishing in third place on the day was Jimmy Collins from peg 5. Jimmy caught most of his fish down his edge on 8mm pellet and dead maggots to weigh in 29-00-00.
