Bateman Vine AC, Woodside Pool

Fourteen (14) anglers from Bateman Vine AC attended this Sunday club fixture held on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day were partly cloudy with some light rain first thing before some heavier downpours later on in the match. Temperatures dropped overnight to single figures before reaching an afternoon high of around 17°C to 19°C - still very mild for the time of year.

Winner on a tough day was Neil Gater, who drew peg 8. Fishing pellet short, Neil managed to find a few decent-sized carp as well as a handful of roach and skimmer bream to weigh in 39-04-00 to confirm a narrow victory.

Finishing close behind in second place was John Sheldon from peg 6 next to the pads. Opting to fish maggot short, John found some good quality silvers as well as a good number of smaller carp to weigh in 35-08-00.

Rounding off the top three finish on the day was Trevor Williams, who drew peg 10 opposite the point of the island. Fishing maggot down his edge, Trevor found mostly carp alongside roach, skimmer bream, rudd and perch to offer 25-12-00 to the scales.
