Thirteen (13) anglers from the Black Boy (Bewdley) attended this second and final fixture of theirs of 2023 on Woodside pool.
Winner on the day was Steve Bagley, who drew peg 10 on the point of the island. Fishing a feeder over to the far margin with maggot on the hook, Steve found mainly carp with a handful of roach, rudd and skimmers to weigh in 45-13-00 to secure a narrow victory.
Finishing close behind in second place was Tom Maloney, who drew peg 12. Opting to fish pellet short and down his edge, Tom found some decent-sized fish to offer a final 44-11-00 to the scales.
Rounding off a very close top three on the day was Bill Phillips. Bill drew unfaniced peg 1 and fished a pellet feeder to weigh in 44-00-00 of carp to take third place on the day narrowlt missing out on automatic qualification for our Match Angler of the Year final following his overall match win earlier in the year.
