Anglers from Brandhall Conservatives lined the banks of Woodside pool for this latest Sunday club match. With conditions remaining extremely warm and with a lot of bait having gone in the day before on the NHS Appreciation match, sport on the day was expected to be a little slow.
Winner on the day was Paul Newey, who drew peg 21. Alternating between corn and maggot hookbaits over fishery micro pellet, Paul weighed in 49-06-00 of carp to take a narrow win.
Finishing close behind in second place was A. Warren from peg 10. Starting his match on the waggler up in the water, he found odd cruising fish before a change to the method feeder during the second half of the match produced some better quality fish giving him a final weight of 43-07-00.
Third place on the day was taken by Trevor Newey from peg 3. Fishing caster down his edge, Trevor found carp and quality silvers to weigh in 40-03-00 narrowly missing out on runner-up spot after losing a lump at the net.
