Brandhall Conservatives, Island Pool

Eleven (11) anglers attended this first club match of the year on the Island pool. Conditions on the day were noticeably cooler than in the week thanks to a large amount of cloud cover. The fishing was pretty difficult with the resident carp showing a reluctance to feed.

Winner on a difficult day was Karl Roper from peg 11. Starting his match fishing corn over fishery pellet long over to the island, Karl found a number of small carp before a look down his edge late on, again with corn, produced a few late fish for a final 29-15-00.

Finishing close behind in second place was Paul Newey from peg 2. Starting his match on pole and pellet, Paul was able to find carp before a look down his edge late on with dead maggot and micros produced a few late bonus fish for Paul to offer 24-12-00 to the scales.

Rounding off the top three was James Taylor, who drew peg 17. Concentrating on his edges for most of the match with maggot, James found six (6) carp and a handful of silvers to weigh in 21-04-00.
