A low turnout for Brandhall Conservatives saw just six (6) anglers line the banks of Woodside pool for their latest club match. Conditions on the day started off dry but deteriorated significantly during the afternoon with constant heavy rain for the second half of the match.
Winner on the day was James Taylor from peg 16 on the dam wall. Fishing pellet and maggot down his edge, James was able to find mainly carp, including some real lumps, to end the match with 68-09-00.
Finishing in second place was Richard Taylor from peg 1 on the opposite bank. Again, pellet and maggot hookbaits offered down the edge accounted for the majority of Richard's 50-01-00.
Breathing down Richard's neck and finishing in third place on the day was Paul Newey, who drew peg 10 on the point of the island. Fishing pellet and maggot down his edge, Paul found mostly carp alongside a smattering of roach, rudd and skimmer bream to offer 49-12-00 to the scales.
