CARRS AC, Woodside Pool

Ten (10) anglers from CARRS AC fished this Saturday club match on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day started off a little wet with persistent rain lasting in to the afternoon coupled with quite a cool stiff breeze. However, as the day progressed, the sun made a brief appearance for the final hour of the match to rouse a few margin munters.

Winner on the day was Alan Taylor, who drew peg 3 on the dam wall. Fishing most of his match on the method feeder fished underneath the willow to his left, Alan found carp in numbers of a good average stamp and managed to keep fish coming to the net for most of the match. However, during the weigh in, Alan was found to be over the net limit in one of his nets which saw the net disqualified. Despite this, Alan had done enough and still took the match win weighing in 87-02-00 - a great effort.

Finishing in second place was Gerry Rush, who drew peg 5. Gerry caught mainly down his edge on worm and enjoyed a decent end to the match to weigh in 63-14-00 of carp, roach, rudd, skimmers and perch.

Close behind in third place on the day was Ray Ravenhall, who drew peg 1. Not normally noted for its form, Ray started his match fishing the tip over to the next pallet (peg 22) and found some decent fish before his bites dried up. A switch down his edge on the pole with maggot provided some sport during the second half of the match to give him a final weight of 57-13-00.
