Thirteen (13) anglers attended this Saturday club match for Halesowen Cricket Club on Woodside pool. Expectations of decent weights were not high on the morning following a freak overnight frost coupled with bright sunshine. That said, it was a close and fair match.
Taking top spot on the day was Scott Rhodes, who drew peg 11. Scott found most of his fish down his right hand edge to the next pallet on dead red maggot over groundbait to weigh in 46-00-00.
Second place was taken by Gary Harris, who drew peg 5 in the channel close to the island. Fishing over to the far margin with dead reds, Gary was able to pick off odd fish patrolling the island before a look down his edge late on, again with dead reds, produced some bonus fish. Gary ended the day with 31-06-00.
Finishing in third place was Terry Foyle from neighbouring peg 3. Again, dead red maggot down the edge accounted for the majority of his 25-07-00 catch.
