Fourteen (14) anglers from Cradley Sports & Leisure attended their annual 2-day festival here at the fishery held across both Woodside and Island pools. Unfortunately for Bryan Burley and his men, conditions throughout were absolutely awful with prolonged heavy rainfall, strong winds and temperatures well into single figures. That said, weights were still good for the time of year.

Anglers were split into teams of seven (7) with the best six weights going towards each teams cumulative total each day. Anglers from each team were split across both pools with 3/4 anglers on each then rotated.

Prizes were rewarded for best individual overall as well as winning team based on total weight over the two days.

Woodside pool - Day 1

Winner on the opening day of the festival on Woodside pool was Bryan Burley from peg 18. Starting his match fishing the long pole with hard pellet, Bryan found odd carp and silvers before switching to his edge later on with worm over groundbait to find some quality bonus carp. Bryan offered 66-00-00 to the scales to get his festival off to a great start!

Second place on the day was Jason Atwell from peg 10. Jason weighed in 56-00-00 of mainly carp caught on pellet and corn from down his edge.

Taking third place on Woodside pool was Leigh Harbutt. Leigh drew corner peg 7 by the lily pads and opted to fish short with pellets and down his edge with dead maggot over groundbait to weigh in 55-00-00.

A little off the pace, but still managing a main frame finish was Chris Carey from peg 18. Starting his match on the short pole with pellet, Chris caught odd carp before moving down his inside late on with dead maggot to end the match with 34-06-00.
