Ten (10) anglers from Dawley AS attended their first visit here with anglers pegged across Island pool. Conditions on the day saw another fine, sunny afternoon with light winds with temperatures reaching a high of approximately 23°C.
Winner on the day was Jamie Noble, who drew peg 15 close to the point of the smaller of the two islands. Jamie started his match fishing paste over to the point to find a few carp patrolling the far side margin, but they quite quickly backed off. A switch to maggot down his edge, however, produced a good run of fish during the second half of his match giving him a final weight of 67-04-00.
Finishing close behind from neighbouring peg 17 was Josh Gwilt. Josh caught on his short line fishing maggot before having a look down his edge late on with paste to put some bigger bonus fish into his net. Upon the scales making their way round, Josh confirmed a weight of 57-07-00.
Third place on the day was taken by Dave Matson from peg 3. Dave caught on banded hard and soft pellet fished down his edge managing to put 55-11-00 on to the scales despite his edge fish proving tricky due to the lower than normal water levels at present.
