Upon the fishery reopening on Saturday 6th June, please take the time to read the following social distancing measures we will be putting in place in order to allow angler's to visit and enjoy the fishery safely.
IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT TO US HERE AT THE FISHERY THAT WE ONLY OPEN IN A WAY THAT PRIORITISES EVERYONE'S WELFARE. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WOODSIDE IS NOT ONLY A PLACE OF WORK FOR US, BUT IS ALSO OUR FAMILY HOME. ANYONE VISITING US MUST DO SO RESPONSIBLY
✔️ OPENING HOURS - please note the fishery will ONLY be open on weekends from Saturday 6th June. We will NOT be open Mon - Fri for the time being.
✔️ AVAILABILITY OF PEGS - upon reopening we will be offering pegs for day ticket anglers only on both Woodside & Island pools. CHARLIE'S POOL WILL REMAIN CLOSED.
✔️ Angler's will be spaced a minimum of 15 metres apart as per the Angling Trust guidelines. As such there will be just 17 pegs available across the complex as follows :
Woodside pool - 8 pegs Island pool - 9 pegs
PLEASE NOTE WE CANNOT PERMIT ENTRY TO THE FISHERY TO NON ANGLER'S OR VISITORS. THIS IS TO ENSURE WE MAINTAIN A SAFE NUMBER OF PEOPLE ON SITE AT ANY ONE TIME.
✔️ PRE-BOOKING is essential! Angler's must book on by telephone ONLY. We will NOT be taking bookings via email or social media. Please call 01299 271305 and ask for Anna or 07967 750580 and ask for Ben. If you can't get through for any reason, please leave a message and include your number so we can call you back.
✔️ We will NOT be allocating pegs when taking bookings. Angler's will simply book onto either one of the two main match lakes and choose from the available pegs on their chosen water upon arrival. Once at their pegs, we ask that angler's remain in place for the duration of their visit.
✔️ PAYMENT - Angler's will be required to pay cash on the day and NOT in advance. However, please be advised we will not being handling cash directly. Instead, we will be introducing a trust box whereby anglers will be required to post payment via a sealed envelope into the box. Further instructions will be available on site. PLEASE ENSURE YOU BRING THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF MONEY WITH YOU. WE WILL NOT. BE ISSUING CHANGE.
✔️ DAY TICKETS - During the lock down period only, we will be implementing a revised flat charge of £6 for all anglers. We will NOT be issuing concessions for the foreseeable.
✔️ SALE OF PELLETS - Pellets will be issued to those angler's that want them on the day. After ordering your pellets, they will be left by the trust box for your collection. Upon collecting them, please be sure to post the required payment (£2) into the trust box. Again, please ensure you have the correct change.
✔️ LANDING NETS - As per normal, angler's are required to use fishery landing nets. However, to remain within the guidelines, angler's will NOT be responsible for collecting them. Fishery staff will provide landing nets at your peg prior to your arrival. When you have finished your day's fishing please leave your landing net at your peg ready for collection.
Of course, fishery staff will perform this task whilst wearing gloves to mitigate against any possible cross contamination of equipment. Please also rest assured that anglers who have booked to fish on a Sunday will NOT be using a net from the day before. We have enough nets to provide fresh nets each day of the weekend.
✔️ TOILET FACILITIES ON SITE WILL REMAIN CLOSED. Apologies for any inconvenience this causes but we cannot confidently maintain the hygiene standards required given the current situation whilst overseeing the additional measures in place at the fishery during this time.
