Halesowen CC, Woodside Pool

Thirteen (13) anglers from Halesowen Cricket Club lined the banks of Woodside pool for this first October match fixture. Conditions on the day started off very cold with the lake shrouded in mist. As the day warmed up, the mist made way for bright sunshine.

Winner on the day was Scott Rhodes, who drew peg 3 close to the island. Starting his match on the pellet waggler, Scott picked off a few early cruising fish before they quickly backed off. Scott later found the fish again down his edge on dead maggot offered over groundbait to weigh in a final 48-02-00 and confirm another win at Woodside.

Finishing close behind in second place was Rob Reed on peg 6. Opting to fish a waggler short with maggot, Rob enjoyed a mixed bag of fish to offer 41-03-00 to the scales.

Martin Dunn finished in third place from unfancied peg 20. Martin struggled for much of the match but found the fish late on down his edge on dead red maggot to weigh in 32-05-00 and save what would have otherwise been a very difficult day.
