Thirteen (13) anglers attended this Saturday club match held across Woodside and Island pools with the overall top three places being taken from both pools. Conditions were quite a lot cooler than they had been in the days leading up to the match with some scattered showers in the week as well, which seemed to affect Woodside pool more so than Island pool. All top three weights on the day came from the top pool.
Winner overall on the day was Simon Cullem, who drew peg 15 on the Island pool. Opting to fish the method feeder over to the point of the island, Simon was into fish more or less straight away and, crucially, was able to maintain a steady catch rate for most of the match. Offering pellet on the hook, Simon recorded an almost all-carp catch to weigh in 92-04-00.
Finishing in second place, also on Island pool, was Stuart Booth who drew peg 2. Fishing pelle short saw Stu put together an impressive catch of mostly small carp as well as a handful of silvers to weigh in 81-05-00.
Concluding the top three finish on the day was Mark Smith from peg 12 on Island pool again. Like Simon, Mark opted to fish the method feeder over to the island offering an 8mm pellet on the hook to find 78-04-00 of carp.
