Twelve (12) anglers from Metal Closures attended this Sunday club match on the Island pool. Conditions started off quite overcast before the sun made a brief appearance mid match. However, towards the end of the day, torrential showers moved in to soak everyone just in time for the weigh in!
Graham Poulton secured the win on the day from peg 19 close to the island. Starting his match on bomb and pellet to his right, Graham found some decent fish before switching to paste tactics short to end proceedings with a match-winning 39-11-00.
Finishing close behind in runner-up spot was Carl Hunter from peg 14. Opting to fish corn and pellet short and down his edges late on, Carl found mainly carp to offer 37-10-00 to the scales.
Rounding off a tight top three on the day was Bob Bennett from peg 27. Opting to fish most of the match short alternating between pellet and paste hook baits, Bob found carp, but not in their usual numbers from this area to weigh in 30-14-00.
A hard but fair match.
