Metal Closures AC, Island Pool

Ten (10) anglers from Metal Closures attended this Sunday club match on the Island pool. With carp stocks still spawning as recently as the afternoon before the match, anglers were not allowed to fish down their edges with a two metres from the bank rule remaining in place from earlier in the week. With the carp in spawning mode and anglers not allowed to target edge fish, weights were adversely affected.

Winner on the day was Bob Bennett, who drew peg 16. Fishing banded pellet short for most of the match, Bob found small carp in numbers to weigh in 51-09-00.

Second place was taken by Fred Westwood from peg 3. Opting to fish pole and pellet short, Fred found fewer fish, but they were of a decent stamp to confirm a weight of 36-07-00.

Taking the final main frame place finish was Ashley Davies. Ash drew peg 14 and caught mainly carp on 8mm pellet short to offer 28-06-00 to the scales.
