Metal Closures AC, Island Pool

Eight (8) anglers from Metal Closures attended their fourth and final match here of 2025 with anglers placed around the Island pool.

Winner on the day was Graham Poulton, who drew fancied peg 2. Fishing paste down both his edges, Graham was able to keep a steady rate of fish coming to the net for most of the match to end proceedings with 110-15-00 to take the match out in style.

Second place was taken by Adam Lees from peg 17. Affectionately dubbed the 'jungle' peg on account of it being difficult to get the fish out from, Adam opted to play it safe and fish pellet down his left hand edge to find small carp in numbers giving him 49-13-00 at the end of the five hours.

Third place on the day was Bob Bennett from in-form peg 14. Fishing both paste and pellet hookbaits down his edge, Bob found mostly carp alongside some quality roach and skimmers to end the match with 41-09-00.
