A small turnout of just seven (7) anglers attended this latest Sunday club match for Metal Closures. With a few no shows, anglers had plenty of room, but blistering hot temperatures made for quite a difficult days fishing with cruising fish showing little interest in anglers baits. That said, there were some edge fish caught late on .
Winner on the day, and making it two out of two, was Kim Hunter from peg 12. Most of Kim's catch was made up of decent sized carp from down his edge on corn. Come the end of the day, Kim offered 75-04-00 to the scales to secure another win and a place in this year's Match Angler Of The Year final.
Second place was taken by Vaughn Graham from neighbouring peg 10. Opting to fish pellet and paste short at top two plus one, Graham recorded 66-12-00 of carp to finish narrowly ahead of Fred Westwood.
Fred finished the day with 60-00-00 of mainly carp alongside some decent roach and skimmer bream all taken on pellet from corner peg 6.
