Eight (8) anglers from Metal Closures fished their latest contest here on Woodside pool. Like the day before, conditions were much cooler than they had been in recent weeks, with a little rain in the week as well helping to cool things down and put some much needed fresh water back into the pools.
Confirming a narrow victory on the day was Martin Davies, who drew peg 3. Martin started his match fishing corn on his short line looking to find carp early on, but instead, found roach, rudd and skimmer bream. A switch to pellet, however, produced some better stamp fish, who were then followed in by the resident carp, giving Martin a final 72-00-00.
Finishing close behind in second place was Ash Davies on peg 8. Fishing soft pellet down his edge, Ash was able to find some real quality fish to weigh in a final 69-15-00 - just one fish behind his dad!
Concluding an extremely close top three finish on the day was Bob Bennet from corner peg 6. Fishing banded pellet down his edge produced mostly carp giving Bob a final weight of 58-06-00.
