A small turnout saw just four (4) anglers from Metal Closures attend their latest Sunday contest here at Woodside. Conditions on the day were still very warm, but noticeably cooler despite a complete lack of cloud cover with the afternoon high reaching around 24 degrees.
Winner on the day was Ash Davies from peg 3. Ash caught most of his fish down the edge from the off on pellet to weigh in 86-03-00.
Finishing close behind in second place was Martin Davies, who drew peg 12 on the opposite point of the island. Martin caught well down his edge to begin with alternating between pellet and paste hookbaits, but seven lost fish ultimately spooked the carp from settling in the margins towards the end, which saw Martin switch to corn on his short line. This line proved very productive with Martin weighing in over 12lb of silvers during the final ninety minutes of the match to weigh in 70-09-00.
Bob Bennett took third place from peg 9 fishing paste down his edge to weigh in 36-10-00.
