Twelve (12) anglers from Model AC attended this Sunday club match held on the Island pool. Conditions on the day started off quite cool with a heavy dew in the morning. Come the afternoon, however, and temperatures reached well into the twenties. The fishing, unfortunately, did not respond well with recorded weights being a lot lower than in previous weeks.
Winner on the day was Lee Caffrey, who drew permanent peg 1. Opting for a risky stratgey and fishing long to the weed, Lee lost a lot of fish during the match but still managed a hard fought 28-03-00 of carp to dead maggot, with some of his bigger fish coming from down his edges as well.
Darren Male finished close behind from peg 17 on the point of the island. Fishing corn down his edge, Darren also lost his fair share of fish but managed to put 27-00-00 on the scales at the end of the day.
Rounding off a modest but close top three finish on the day was Dave Dearn from peg 15. Fishing a method feeder with dead reds to the island and down his edge, Dave managed 22-12-00.
