Ten (10) anglers from Old Hill Labour attended this Sunday club match on Island pool. Anglers enjoyed a classic early-summer day with temperatures peaking at a pleasant high of roughly 20°C to 22°C, before cooling to an overnight low of around 13°C to 14°C. The day featured a mix of sunny intervals and cloudy spells, accompanied by a gentle to moderate westerly breeze.
Winner on the day was Don Chiltern, who drew peg 17. Fishing maggot short for most of the match, Don was able to find small carp in numbers and, despite losing his fair share of fish, still managed to offer a match-winning 70-05-00 to the scales to sneak a narrow victory.
Finishing close behind in second place was Ian Simcox from favoured peg 2. Fishing banded pellet short and down his edge saw Ian catch mostly small carp to weigh in a final 69-00-00.
Third place was taken by Jamie Clarke from peg 12 on the opposite bank parallel to the island. Jamie offered caster and worm over to the island to finish with 57-04-00.
