Seven (7) anglers attended this latest open match on the Island pool. Conditions on the day started off quite cold, but later, the sun made an appearance resulting in a nice autumnal day with very little breeze.
Clear winner on the day was Dave Bowyer from peg 15. Fishing pellet down his edge, Dave found carp willing to have a munch right from the off and managed to keep a steady run of fish averaging 2-3lbs coming to the net throughout the day. Come the end of the five hours, Dave offered 114-07-00 to the scales leaving the rest of the field in his dust. A great performance!
Second place went to Dan Hart, who drew unfancied peg 4 on the dam wall. Dan opted to have one last throw of the dice for the resident carp before starting his silverfish campaign here next month and fished paste down his edge to find 52-12-00 of carp with a few bits.
Taking third place was Mick Jones on peg 9. Fishing pellet short and down his edge, Mick found some good quality fish as well as a handful of roach and half decent perch to weigh in 45-05-00.
