Eight (8) anglers attended this Saturday open match held on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day were far from ideal with high air pressure and bright sunshine coupled with hardly any ripple at all accounting for lower than expected weights.
Winner on the day was Vinny Varden (Black Country AC), who drew peg 21. Fishing banded hard pellet down his edge, Vinny was into small carp from the off and caught steadily for most of the day to offer 62-01-00 to the scales.
Finishing in second place was fellow Black Country AC rod, Adam Jennings from peg 5. Fishing pellet shallow on the pole tight to the island, Adam was able to find some decent carp before a switch down his edge with paste and corn produced some quality ghost carp. Adam ended the day with 57-01-00.
Rounding off the top three on the day was Steve Squire from peg 10 with a level 43-00-00.
