Eight (8) anglers attended this Saturday open match fished on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day would've been ideal had it not have been for a strong squawly wind that, without question, hampered anglers best efforts and impacted on the weights recorded.
Winner on the day was local rod, Max Galaszewski from peg 9. Max started his match fishing shallow for silvers with caster to stay busy when others were struggling to find the resident carp. Max put together an impressive bag of quality roach and rudd before focusing his efforts on a better stamp of fish late on offering 6mm pellet over towards the island where he found a few decent carp to weigh in a final 55-09-00.
First-time visitor Nathan Wilkes finished in second place from peg 7. Again, Nathan got off to a slower than expected start on the carp so decided to focus on the silverfish in his peg offering maggot short at 5m. Later, Nathan went down his edge with expanders to find smaller carp in numbers to weigh in 32-04-00.
Chris Shurmer marked his return to Woodside after many years with a third place finish from peg 11. Chris started down his edge to find a few quick bonus fish on expander over fishery micro pellet, but could only manage odd fish for the rest of the match to offer 29-00-00 to the scales come the end of the five hours.
