Open Match, Woodside Pool

Updated: Sep 24, 2023

Nine (9) anglers attended this latest Saturday open match held on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day were relatively pleasant with extended periods of sunshine making for a comfortable Autmunal day.

Winner on the day was TREC AC man, Chris Hall. Chris drew peg 10 on the far point of the island and opted to fish paste short for most of the match to offer 63-14-00 of carp to the scales. Chris books his place in the Match Angler Of The Year final next March thanks to this second outright match win of the season here at Woodside.

Second place was taken by in-form Mick Jones from peg 16. The recently crowned September Festival Champion opted to fish maggot down his edge for most of the match to weigh in 50-06-00 of carp and also books his place in next March's Match Angler Of The Year final.

Third place on the day went to the ever consistent Dave Bowyer, who drew peg 5. Fishing pellet down his edge, Dave found quality roach and skimmer as well as carp to confirm a weight of 48-08-00.
