Open Match, Woodside Pool

Eight (8) anglers attended this Sunday open match held on Woodside pool organised by Mat Linforth.

Winner on the day was Pat Woodhouse, who drew peg 3 close to the point of the island. Fishing pellet short to begin with before looking down his edge late on, Pat found a good stamp of mainly carp to offer 73-05-00 to the scales and confirm a narrow victory.

Finishing close behind in second place was John Morgan from peg 16. Again, pellet accounted for most of John's fish caught both short and down his edge for a final weight of 68-15-00.

Third place was secured by Mat Linforth from peg 1. Mat adopted a different approach to the majority of the field choosing instead to target the silverfish on maggot and caster. Carp inevitably showed up part way through the match to boost Mat's overall weight to tip the scales at 52-12-00, which included 18-04-00 of quality roach and perch.
