Ten (10) anglers attended this Saturday open match held on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day were not ideal with high humidity, high air pressure and not a breath of wind. Needless to say, fishing on the day was difficult to say the least with some anglers opting not to weigh in.
Recording a win on what was a hard day for most was Dave Bowyer, who drew peg 20. Dave got off to a great start catching fish down his edge early with 6mm expanders, but a freak downpour midway through the match unfortunately saw the bites dry up as a result. The final two hours of the match produced little else with Dave confirming a final weight of 75-12-00 to confirm a comfortable win.
Finishing in second place was Joe Lowe from peg 12. Opting to fish pellet short and down his edge, Joe found mostly carp to weigh in 38-07-00 to top what was an extremely tight rest of the field.
Third place was awarded to Gary Butler, who drew peg 4 on the point of the island. Starting his match fishing a long pole over to the island, he was able to find carp patrolling the far edge. However, following the rain, the fish moved on so Gary switched to his edge with a small method feeder to take some late fish to weigh in 36-09-00.
