Ten (10) anglers attended this Friday evening open match on Woodside pool. Conditions for this latest three-hour mid-week match were ideal with cooler temperatures as well as a bit more cloud cover around. That said, the water remained very warm with lots of fish cruising in the upper layers.
Winner on the day, and making it two afternoon match wins out of two, was Dave Bowyer. Dave drew peg 9 round the back of the island and made no mistake in taking full advantage of a good draw putting a match-winning 85-14-00 on to the scales. Dave caught down his edge on maggot and pellet.
Finishing in second place was local man Dan Bache. Dan drew peg 20 and fished maggot over groundbait down his edge, but didn't the fish until late to end up with 70-02-00.
Third place was awarded to Ken Hayes, who drew peg 3. Opting to fish expanders on the hook over fishery micro pellet, Ken had fewer fish, but managed to get among some real specimens to weigh in 46-03-00.
