Eleven (11) anglers attended this first open match of the new season held across both Woodside and Island pools. The vast majority of the field had qualified for the Match Angler Of The Year final, which was due to take place the following weekend, so it served as the perfect practice opportunity for those involved.
Winner on the day was local man, Max Galaszewski. Max drew peg 12 on the Island pool opposite the island and opted to fish maggot up in the water mugging cruising fish for most of the match to end the day with 135-10-00.
Second place was taken by Stan Taylor from peg 4 on Woodside pool. Stan started his match fishing a feeder over to the island with a wafter hookbait before switching to his edge line late on with 6mm expanders to find some better stamp fish. Stan weighed in a final 81-12-00 to secure the lake win.
Finishing in third place on the day was Tony Dyson, who drew peg 2 on Island pool. Fishing hard pellet short and down his edge, Tony offered 74-11-00 to the scales.
