A small turnout saw seven (7) anglers pegged on Woodside pool for this Saturday club contest. Conditions on the day were cloudy for the most part with temperatures hovering between 15°C to 20°C thanks mostly to a moderate breeze.
Winner of this latest contest on Woodside pool was Rory Copeland who drew peg 5 in the channel close to the island. Fishing hard pellet between his keepnets, Rory was able to tempt a good stamp of fish right at his feet to weigh in 107-05-00 and win the match by a comfortable margin.
Second place was awarded to Jamie Langford, who drew peg 10 on the point of the island. Jamie started his match fishing the method feeder short, but could only manage odd fish before a look down his inside later on with pellet and corn produced a strong final ninety (90) minutes. At the end of five hours, Jamie confirmed a weight of 61-09-00 to finish narrowly ahead of third place.
Third on the day was John Whitehouse from peg 8. Alternating between pellet, corn and paste hookbaits on both his long and short lines, John had a busy days fishing chasing bites from all over his peg to end the day with 58-05-00.
