Eight (8) rods from new club Shropshire Anglers attended their first ever fixture here at Woodside on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day started off quite a bit cooler than in recent weeks, but as the day wore on, the cloud cover made way for more sunshine, making things feel quite hot towards the latter part of the match.
Winner on the day was Josh Cater, who drew in-form peg 11 just past the point of the island. Starting his match on a method feeder, Josh caught carp over to the island on wafters before switching to his margins later on with 8mm pellet to find some late bonus edge fish. Josh ended the day with a respectable 64-12-00 to win by a comfortable margin.
Second place on the day was awarded to Stuart Powell, who drew peg 1. Fishing pellet short for most of the match, Stuart managed to find just odd fish, but they were of a good stamp giving him a final weight of 28-05-00.
Third place honours were shared between Aden Walker and Matt Norman. Aden fished both pole and pellet shallow as well as a method feeder short with wafter hookbait to weigh in 12-11-00, whereas Matt fished a long pole with pellet at 13m from peg 21 to equal Aden's efforts.
