Twelve (12) anglers lined the banks of Woodside pool for this silverfish only match organised by Garbolino's Matt Linforth. Conditions on the day were forecast to be a bit of a mixed bag, but fortunately the worst of the weather held off and it was a superb closely contested match.
Winner on the day was Shaun Street, who drew peg 10 on the point of the island. Shaun concentrated on his short line for most of the match fishing maggot over groundbait to find some quality roach and skimmer bream to offer 22-13-00 to the scales.
Finishing close behind in second place was Trevor Chaulk from peg 13. Trevor started his match with caster over groundbait on his short line before having a look down his edge later on, again offering caster on the hook over groundbait, to weigh in 20-11-00 of quality roach.
Third place, and rounding off a competitive top three, was Dan Chaulk from peg 12. Dan also opted for caster short over groundbait to find a mix of smaller stamp roach, rudd, skimmer bream and a bonus big perch to end the day with 19-10-00.
