A decent turnout saw fourteen (14) anglers attend this Sunday club match for The Black Boy held on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day were a lot cooler with temperatures just creeping into the low twenties by mid-afternoon after a heavy downpour during the small hours of the morning.
Winner on the day was Dave Crosby, who drew peg in-form peg 10 on the point of the island. Fishing both maggot and pellet hookbaits down his edge, Dave found some good quality fish to weigh in 64-02-00.
Second place went to John Portman from neighbouring peg 12. Fishing paste down his edge, John also found a good stamp of fish to offer a final 42-12-00 to the scales.
Third place on the day was awarded to Kevin Beard, who drew peg 20 on the opposite side of the lake. Fishing pellet down his edge, Kevin struggled to find the carp in any numbers, but the fish he did have were real lumps including fish into double figures. Upon the scales making their way round, Kevin confirmed a weight of 38-03-00.
