The Bridge AC, Island Pool

Just eight (8) anglers from an expected fifteen (15) showed for this latest match fixture on the Island pool. Conditions in the week leading up to this latest contest had been a continuation of hot a sticky weather with carp having spawned for a second time mid week. For this reason, a 3m from the bank rule was in place.

Winner on the day was Alan Watkins from peg 16 - the second time in as many weeks it has produced a winning weight. Alan fished a feeder with sticky pellets offering corn on the hook to take small carp in numbers to weigh in 50-05-00.

Finishing in second place was Richard Evans from unfancied peg 4 on the dam wall. Starting his match on worm and caster, Richard found odd carp and quality silvers before switching to an all out caster attack up in the water for the final half of the match to find some better stamp fish. Richard weighed in 39-04-00.

Third place on the day went to Dave Wyatt from peg 18. Opting to pole fish corn over to the island over fishery 4mm feed pellet, Dave managed to get among the carp but also lost a few fish to offer 37-07-00 to the scales.
