TREC AC, Woodside & Island Pools

Fourteen (14) anglers from TREC AC attended their second match here in just a few weeks with anglers pegged across both Woodside and Island pools. Unlike their last trip here, the ban on margin fishing had been lifted with carp stocks no longer spawning - for the time being at least.

WOODSIDE

Winner on the day on Woodside pool was Chris Hall, who drew peg 8 close to the island beneath the oak trees. Starting his match offering pellet long, Chris was able to find some good-sized fish patrolling the far side edges close to the island before switching to his nearside margin later on with paste. Chris ended the match with 106-07-00 to win by a comfortable margin.

Second place was Lee Chasmore, who drew peg 12. Starting his match fishing short with worm, catser and expanders, Lee was able to get among the carp early before moving down his edge late on in the match, again offering worm, caster and expanders to find some better quality fish. Lee ended the day with 71-07-00.

Taking the last of the mainframe places on Woodside pool was Jason Bird from peg 1. Jason caught most of his fish shallow and down his edge on corn to weigh in 52-08-00.

ISLAND

Winner on the day on Island pool was Rob Sandall, who drew peg 2. Offering hard 8mm pellet over fishery 4mm and micros, Rob enjoyed a great days sport from the off catching carp of all sizes for the duration of the match to weigh in a final 125-00-00.

Second place was taken by Lee Caffrey from peg 5. Fishing paste short, Lee found mainly carp with a handful of good quality silverfish to weigh in 54-05-00.

Finishing in third place was Roger Tomes from peg 11. Starting his match fishing pellet up in the water, Roger managed a decent run of fish before a handful of lost fish saw them back off a little. A switch to dead maggot saw the fish come back with Roger managing a final 49-00-00.
