Seventeen (17) anglers from TREC AC attended their first of two club matches this year here at Woodside with anglers spread across both main match lakes.
WOODSIDE
Winner on the day on Woodside pool was Lee Cashmore, who drew peg 12. Starting his match fishing expanders over fishery 4mm pellet, Lee was able to find a good mix of fish including carp and quality skimmers before he switched to his edge late on with corn to find some better stamp fish. Lee ended the day with 61-09-00 to confirm a narrow victory.
Finishing close behind in second place was Chris Hall from peg 1. Chris found most of his fish down his edge late on with dead maggot to offer 59-12-00 to the scales.
Third place on Woodside pool was awarded to Scott Banks from peg 4. Fishing maggot shallow tight to the island, Scott found carp of all sizes patrolling the far side edge to weigh in 52-08-00.
POSITION | ANGLER | PEG | WEIGHT | METHOD |
1st | L. Cashmore | 12 | 61-09-00 | Pellet short & Corn in the margins |

3rd | S. Banks | 4 | 52-08-00 | Maggot shallow |

ISLAND
Winner on the day on Island pool was Paul Davis from peg 15 between the two islands. Alternating between corn, pellet and paste hookbaits over to the island, Paul was able to find odd decent-sized fish before coming down his inside late on to find some bonus edge fish to weigh in 56-06-00.
Finishing close behind in second place was Dave Orton, who drew peg 11. Starting his match on the method feeder with pellet, Dave picked up a few early fish before they backed off. A switch to corn down his edge produced some better stamp fish during the second half of the match to give him a final 54-05-00.
Finishing in third place from in form peg 17 was Jason Bird. Jason got off to a great start managing around 30lb in the first hour. However, a change in the wind saw his swim choked with pollen and pussy willow seed heads resulting in him being unable to present a bait well enough for two thirds of the match. Jason battled on and managed some edge fish late on to settle with 44-10-00 of small carp caught shallow down his edge.
