TREC AC, Woodside & Island Pools

Fourteen (14) anglers from TREC AC attended their latest fixture here at Woodside with anglers being pegged across both Woodside and Island pools. Conditions on the day were a bit of a mixed bag with thundery showers and a gentle breeze. Daytime temperatures reached a high of around 20°C.

WOODSIDE

Overall winner on Woodside pool was Rob Sandall, who drew peg 4. Concentrating his efforts on his short line, Rob chose to fish pellet over fishery 4mms and dead maggot to find good-sized fish in numbers. At the end of the five hours, Rob offered just shy of 100lbs of fish after suffering a knock-back on one of his nets for a final 97-03-00.

Finishing in second place was Scott Banks who drew peg 1. Fishing pellet down his edge, Scott was able to find some big fish to weigh in 60-14-00.

Taking third place on the day on Woodside pool was Ross Hall from peg 11. Again, pellet down his edge did the damage with Ross offering 36-12-00 to the scales at the end of the five hours.

The smile says it all! A great effort from Rob on the bottom pool saw him secure the win from peg 4

ISLAND

Winner overall on Island pool was Roger Tomes from peg 11. Fishing pellet down his edge for most of the match, Roger was able to keep small carp coming to the net for the full five hours to weigh in a superb 148-07-00.

Finishing in second place was Terry Finn from peg 3. Terry fished a nice simple match offering dead maggot down his edge to find small carp in numbers to offer a final 118-15-00 to the scales.

Third place on the day was taken by Lee Cashmore from peg 15 on the point of the smaller of the two islands. Alternating between pellet, corn and paste hookbaits, Lee put together a good bag of fish to weigh in 87-08-00.
