Waters Edge AC, Woodside Pool

A good turnout saw sixteen (16) anglers attend this Waters Edge club match held on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day were hot and humid with barely any ripple.

Comfortable winner on the day was Alistair Cox from peg 3 on the point of the island. A good angler on a good peg was always going to be difficult to beat, and so it proved to be with Alistair offering a superb 111-12-00 to the scales at the end of the five hours. Starting shallow, Alistair found only a couple of fish before switching to a straight bomb over to the island to find a few more fish. However, the majority of his fish came from down his edge during the second half of the match to dead maggot fished over groundbait.

Second place was secured by Paul Symonds from corner peg 7 close to the pads. Again, most of Paul's fish came from down his edge on maggot over groundbait to weigh in 66-02-00.

Rounding off the top three was Ben Allen, who drew peg 14 on the dam wall. Ben struggled to find the fish for the most part of the match, but managed to stumble upon a number of decent sized fish down his right hand edge offering corn over groundbait to enjoy a frantic final forty five minutes and finish with 43-00-00.
