Nine (9) anglers from Wheatsheaf AC attended their second match here in the space of a few weeks with anglers, once again, pegged around Woodside pool. Conditions for this Saturday contest started off quite cool, but by the afternoon, temperatures had climbed significantly making things feel quite close and clammy.
Winner on the day was Chris Whitehouse, who drew peg 8 round the back of the island. Fishing corn down his edge, Chris was able to keep a very good average stamp of fish coming to the net for the duration of the match to offer 104-01-00 to the scales.
Finishing in second place was Paul Smith from neighbouring peg 10. Again, like Chris, Paul found most of his fish down his edge with corn to weigh in 91-07-00.
Third place on the day was awarded to Dave Lewis from peg 1. Again, like the rest of the framers, Dave was able to find a good average stamp of fish down his edge. Offering worm over dead maggot and groundbait, Dave found some real lumps to end the match with 86-01-00.
