Whitehall 1212 AC, Woodside & Island Pools

Fifteen (15) anglers from Whitehall1212 attend this latest Sunday club match pegged across both Woodside and Island pools. Conditions on the day were generally mild and dry, with typical mid-August daily high temperatures around 20°C.

WOODSIDE

Overall winner on Woodside pool was Len Merrell, who drew unfancied peg 21. This particular area of the lake hasn't produced a mainframe finish for most of the seaosn thus far with very few carp being caught from surrounding pegs. However, Len fished maggot short and down hise edge to end the day with a modest 42-06-00, which was enough to top the lake on what proved a difficult day on the bottom pool.

Finishing in second place was Dan Sydall, who drew in-form peg 5 close to the island. Fishing a method feeder short with a wafter hookbait, Dan unfortunately struggled to find the fish managing 34-14-00

Taking third place on the day on Woodside pool was Martin Sharp from peg 8. Again, like many, Martin struggled to get among the carp, but did manage to find a few fish on his short line with corn to offer 26-09-00 to the scales.

ISLAND

Winner overall on Island pool was Del Peters, who drew peg 2. Opting for an unusual approach on this renowned peg, Del chose to fish a method feeder down his edge with 6mm pellet on the hook to end the day with 107-07-00 of small carp.

Finishing close behing in second place was Trevor Smith, who drew peg 11 directly opposite Del. Fishing pellet down his edge for most of the match, Trevor was able to keep a steady run of fish coming to the net for the full five hours to end the match with 104-07-00.

Third place on the day was taken by Dan Lunn from peg 9. Fishing a banded 6mm pellet on the hook short, Dan managed a decent bag of fish from a notoriously difficult peg to weigh in 58-14-00.
