Fourteen (14) anglers from Whitehall Rushwick attended their latest club fixture here at Woodside with anglers spread across both Woodside and Island pools. Conditions were a little cooler than in recent days with a relatively stiff breeze creating a decent ripple across both pools.
WOODSIDE
Comfortable winner overall on Woodside pool was Mick Watling, who drew in-form peg 11. Fishing 8mm wafters down his edge for most of the match, Mick was able to maintain a steady run of fish for most of the five hours, including some real lumps, to confirm a final 123-12-00 and leave the rest of the field for dust!
Finishing in second place was Clive Mole, who drew peg 21. Opting to fish a method feeder all the way over to the island, Clive managed to find odd carp to offer 45-06-00 to the scales.
Third place on the day was taken by Trevor Davis from peg 5 in the channel close to the island. Trevor started his match fishing pellet to the island before coming down his inside late on with paste to find some better stamp fish and weigh in 38-13-00.
POSITION | ANGLER | PEG | WEIGHT | METHOD |
1st | M. Watling | 11 | 123-12-00 | Pellet in the margins |
2nd | C. Mole | 21 | 45-06-00 | Method feeder long |
3rd | T. Davis | 5 | 38-13-00 | Pellet to the island & paste in the margins |

ISLAND
Winner overall on Island pool was Nigel Hobday. Nigel drew difficult peg 17, which holds a lot of fish, but getting them out is easier said than done! Concentrating on both his short and margin lines offering a banded 6mm on the hook over fishery 4mms on both, Nigel managed to hold on to everything he hooked losing just four (4) fish over the five (5) hours to weigh in a lake-winning 55-06-00.
Second place was awarded to Gareth Manton from peg 2. Again, fishing both short and then down his edge during the final throws of the match with an all out pellet attack, Gareth ended the day with 40-06-00 of small stockies.
Third place on the day was taken by Andrew Hodgettes, who drew peg 14. Fishing pellet down his edge, Andy managed 34-11-00 of carp come the end of the five hours.
