A relatively small gathering attended this Saturday club match on the Island pool. Conditions on the day were a little unsettled to begin with but the sun managed to break through by the afternoon making things feel quite pleasant.
Topping the field was Ray Ravenhall. Starting his match fishing a feeder tight to the island, Ray found odd carp patrolling the shelf before switching to his margins late on with pellet. Ray found some quality fish down his edge to finish the match with 64-15-00, finishing well clear of next best many on the day, Gerry Rush.
Gerry fished worm short at 7m to begin with before a switch to his margins with pellet put him amongst the better fish to offer 38-12-00 to the scales.
Third place was taken by Peter Thomas with 25-08-00 of mainly small carp taken on both 6mm banded pellet and worm fished short at 7m.
